Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address

Lincoln creates a tone of righteous indignation by accusing the Confederacy of starting the war.  Lincoln stated "...one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive."  President Lincoln said this because he was angered with the South's rebellion against the rest of the nation.  Due to the Confederate insurgency, they rended the nation.  Since the Union decided to participated in the war to defend the nation, it is the Confederate's fault for tearing it apart.  Lincoln states that slavery is the "cause of the war."
